Zach LaVine’s wife, Hunter, is speaking out after a hot mic caught a group of female reporters talking about her husband, and it spread online.
The Kings held their annual media day on Monday, Sept. 28, ahead of the 2026-27 NBA season. During the event, a clip surfaced online that captured several female reporters discussing LaVine and fellow Kings guard Ben Simmons.
The clip went viral quickly because of what they said about the two players. Talking about Simmons’ career, one reporter called him “cringe, cringe,” while another joked that he’s “lucky he’s so fine.”
Then they moved on to LaVine. One woman called him “hella fine,” before another reporter shared a different opinion about him.
Hunter LaVine Reacts To The Hot-Mic Conversation
The reporter said LaVine’s personality annoys her. She still called him attractive.
“I think his personality annoys the [expletive] out of me, so that’s what makes him less fine,” the woman said. “Zach’s cute but his personality [expletive] annoys me. He just seems like hella like a (expletive). But he is beautiful.”

The conversation did not appear to sit well with Hunter LaVine.
She responded on Instagram and appeared to take a shot at the reporters, pointing to the timing of the incident.
“a great start to the season!” Hunter wrote.
To be fair, Hunter took the whole thing pretty well. She shared the clip to her Instagram story on Monday with just a bunch of laughing emojis.
The female reporters involved in the conversation have not been identified yet, but social media thinks one of them is Sara Hodges.
Still, the video has become an odd side story for the Kings, right as they get ready for the new season. With opening night coming in mid-October, Sacramento now has to deal with a strange little distraction before the real games even start.
